History of Sheffield 293 (UWA293L)
293 was new to
Sheffield Transport in 1973 and was allocated to Eastbank garage. It became
part of the SYPTE fleet in April 1974 with the rest of the Sheffield fleet.
It was then
sold in November 1985 to Moodies Construction for use as a hospitality bus
before passing onto MC Nicholas Construction. It was sold again to Hart
community outreach in Fleet, Hampshire before going to a vicar in the West
Midlands. After these, it was a private owner from Salisbury from where the
current owner purchased it for preservation in August 2018.
293 has had a lot of work done already and is
starting to look more like a bus again. Work is ongoing and will be completed
in due course.
