History of Rotherham Lorry (FET 218)

M94 (FET 218) was new to Rotherham corporation (health department) in 1949 transferring circa 1957 to the transport department and being cut down to a pick up carrying a petrol engine welding set.

Little is known about this vehicle, and no known photographs exist of it in service but it did pass into the ownership of SYPTE and gained fleet number M94, being sold for scrap in 1977 still wearing its RCT service vehicle red colour scheme.

Thankfully a local enthusiast saved it from the scrap yard minus its welding set. It has had many owners over the years, but by 2018 had changed ownership and returned to South Yorkshire in very poor condition, as a full restoration is currently underway.

If you can help with any more information regarding this vehicle then please get in touch, we’d be glad to hear it.
