History of Isle Coaches 859 (A859 SUL)

This vehicle was new to London Regional Transport in October 1983 as T859. It passed to London Buses before passing on again to South East London & Kent Bus Co. (Selkent) in April 1989.

In September 1994 upon privatisation, it passed to Stagecoach Selkent. It was converted to single door in January 1998 before transferring to Stagecoach Devon later that year. It would eventually gain a Stagecoach national fleet number of 10859.

By June 1999 it had passed to Bayline but didn’t last long as it was on the move again in 2000 to Fleetlink of Liverpool.

In May 2001 it was acquired by Isle Coaches of Owston Ferry and operated regularly into South Yorkshire. It was withdrawn in June 2006.

In September 2006 it was sold to Orbt Travel of Leicester where it operated for several years.

Late in 2014, it was with Routemaster Buses of Nantwich and was subsequently preserved.

In late 2022 it was sent for scrap by the owner and it was from there that is was acquired by the team at SYTT. It arrived onsite in early 2023.
