History of Mainline 402

This vehicle was part of some vehicle evaluation tests. Mainline took a Plaxton bodied Volvo B6 (401) and a Northern Counties bodied Dennis Dart (402) for evaluation. Unfortunately the Plaxton B6 won and Mainline placed an order for those.

402 ran for Mainline for a while before passing through several operators and eventually ending up in Wales. It ran for Rhondda before passing into Stagecoach ownership when the company was taken over.

A lot of research went into finding where 402 had gone and luckily it had survived. A long tow back to Rotherham took place in February 2019 and restoration has already been started.
